  • COLORADO TASK FORCE FOR MUSIC THERAPY

    Description
Judy Simpson of AMTA and Dena Register of CBMT are working with a group of Colorado music therapists to improve recognition for the MT-BC credential in our state. 1. Understand the current state of the music therapy profession in Colorado and
    2. Connect with community members and legislators who will help advance the field of Music Therapy in Colorado.

    It Only Takes 15 Minutes!
    March 2009

Your Colorado State Task Force is in the midst of putting together informational brochures and fact sheets for you to use as you develop relationships with your representative and senator. As we prepare these materials, you can keep working on the 1st step of this process:

Step 1: Send a letter to your representative and senator (if you have not done so already).

The purpose of this letter is to begin to establish a relationship with your elected officials. The long-term goal will be to get their help figuring out the BEST way to achieve state recognition of the MT-BC credential. The first short-term objective is to get your first letter out in the mail.

This will only take 15 minutes! Download the following sample letters. You will need to adapt them slightly, but the bulk of the letter has already been written for you. Create one letter for your representative and one letter for your senator (Visit www.Congress.org, enter your zip code, and the site will tell you who your elected officials are). Print the letters, address the envelopes, add the stamps, and put them in the mail. It's that simple.

The next step will be outlined in late spring. Until then, if you have questions, please contact any of your task force members.

Remember - please take 15 minutes to get your two letters sent!
